The company has often sponsored Pride celebrations and even launched their very own rainbow Mickey Ears last year.

'Magical Pride' will take place at Disneyland Paris on June 1 to kick off Pride Month. That’s not to say that Disney hasn’t supported LGBT rights in the past. Disney is hosting its first-ever official pride event to celebrate the LGBTQ community.

Some, though, aren’t so impressed with Disney’s late entry into the world of attracting LGBT travelers.Īccording to Orlando Weekly in an article titled “Disneyland Paris decides gay dollars are OK dollars with official Pride event,” the author wryly writes: “Considering the way Disney has pretended not to notice the source of the tidal wave of cash flowing their way from the thousands of red-shirted attendees lo these many decades…we think it’s pretty cool that Le House du Mouse is stepping up.” In an interview with Gay Star News, Andy Beard, managing director of Greatdays Holidays, said: As one of the leading group travel tour operators in the UK and with over 30 years in the industry, Greatdays Travel Group is always looking for. “Dress like a dream, feel fabulous and experience Walt Disney Studios Park like never before – loud, proud and alive with all the colors of the rainbow,” reads the Disneyland Paris website. It’s called Magical Pride, and it’s scheduled to begin on June 1, 2019, at Disneyland Paris. Now, though, it officially gets the seal of approval from Disney corporate. Magical Pride, though, isn’t a brand-new event at Europe’s only Disney park, it actually had its beginnings in 2014. Here the Pride Party keeps the crowd on a high with live DJs and concerts from 5pm until 10pm. The procession will start at Montparnasse on Rue Falguière, before concluding with a massive party at Place de la République. Magical Pride will take place on June 1, 2019, and it will host numerous events including a “Magical March of Diversity” parade, musical acts (not yet announced), and plenty of rainbow Disney merchandise to purchase. Happy Pride In 2019, the Paris Gay Pride Parade (Marche des Fiertés LGBTQ) will take place on Saturday, June 29 at 2pm. While Disneyland California and Disney World Orlando have been hosting unofficial LGBT Pride events for decades, Disneyland Paris will be the first resort to host a sanctioned pride day. Disney parks around the world have had unofficial days where members of the LGBTQ community flow in to celebrate their diverse identities, but the corporation hasn’t widely sanctioned Pride.
